Description

The Activate Partial Thromboplastin Time (aPTT) test is used to know the status of all the clotting / coagulation factors by measuring the time (in seconds) it takes a clot to form. The result is always compared to a control sample of normal blood. It is also useful to monitor the dose of heparin in cardiac cases. Lab results are usually ready the same day.
