THYROID PROFILE – TFT (Thyroid Function Test)

Description

Thyroid Profile or Thyroid Function Tests – (Total) are blood tests. The thyroid gland produces two main thyroid hormones – triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), responsible for metabolism, growth, sexual function, sleep, mood, energy levels, internal temperature, hair, skin, weight, and more.  When thyroid hormone levels are off, one can have an overactive thyroid gland where too much thyroid hormone is produced (Hyperthyroidism) or too little thyroid hormone is produced (Hypothyroidism). Lab results are usually ready the same day.
